On 19th December, 2017 Grand Columbus International School celebrated its primary wing annual day with enthusiasm and zeal. The entire junior wing participated wholeheartedly towards the success of this grand event. The triumph was made possible by the relentless efforts of the Principal Ms. Richa Puri. The Chief Guest Dr. Hanif Qureshi, IPS, Commissioner of Police Faridabad graced the occasion. The esteemed Guest of Honour Mr. Dinesh Raghuvanshi, the prominent National poet, principals from other reputed schools and other dignitaries were amongst the ones who witnessed this grand event. The programme was commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The Principal Ms. Richa Puri addressed the gathering by highlighting the initiatives being taken by the school. She ended her address ensuring the parents that its just the beginning & thanking them for their support.
Dr. Hanif Qureshi appreciated the theme “Awakening to oneness – a global saga” and said that he has attended many programmes but never saw such an amazing and wonderful programme like this. He further exclaimed though our societies are diverse in nature yet we are one like “Ek Sutra Ek Mala”. Eminent poet Mr. Dinesh Raghuvanshi also appreciated that programme was spectacularly presented by toddlers and small children. The concept of “Unity in Diversity” was presented meticulously by students from Pre-nursery to class IV. It was a journey into thriving compassion among characters and heart touching scenes interwoven into a dramatically overwhelming play “Ek Sutra Ek Mala” composed and presented by the students. Columbians added another feather to the cap of Grand Columbus International School with their spectacular performance by lifting the audience off their feet. The effortless compering was entirely done by the versatile Columbians.
Riya Yadav and Manthan Kapoor , students of class V who presented the annual report highlighting the achievements of the school and the students. Meritorious winners of the year were felicitated with medals and certificates followed by the adulation of teaching excellence awards in the category of regularity and service awards with supportive staff. Managing Director of the school Mr. Suresh Chander acknowledged the efforts of the students and thanked the esteemed guests for their precious time from the busy schedule to attend the function. The programme was telecast live on Facebook and covered by print media. The function ended with Grand Finale and Vote of thanks.
